How to reach the Togean Islands

Choose the route that suits your journey. From Wakai or Bunta, our team can help with the final boat to The Angkayo.

The easiest option

✈️ Via Luwuk

  1. Fly to Luwuk (LUW), often connecting via Makassar.
  2. Travel from Luwuk to Bunta by road — approximately 3 hours. We can put you in touch with local drivers.
  3. Take a private boat with us directly from Bunta to The Angkayo.
  4. Let our team know your expected arrival time in Bunta so we can coordinate your boat.
Coming from Bali? With an early morning flight, you can reach The Angkayo by the end of the same day.
Overland connection

🚙 Via Palu

  1. Fly to Palu (PLW).
  2. Travel by road to Ampana — approximately 10–12 hours. We can help put you in touch with local drivers.
  3. From Ampana, take the public boat or Hercules Speedboat to Wakai. Book and confirm the crossing directly with the operator. Hercules: WhatsApp +62 813-4372-4441.
  4. Our team can arrange a private boat to collect you at Wakai and bring you to The Angkayo.
Tell our team when you expect to arrive in Wakai, and we can help arrange the final crossing to the resort.
Scheduled ferry route

⛴️ Via Gorontalo

  1. Fly to Gorontalo (GTO).
  2. Take the ferry from Gorontalo to Wakai. Check the sailing schedule with the ferry operator.
  3. Meet your arranged boat from Wakai to The Angkayo. Let us know if you would like us to organise your private pickup.
The Angkayo can also help arrange boat transfers for guests already staying elsewhere in the Togean Islands.

  1. If you are on mainland Sulawesi, travel to Ampana or Bunta, depending on your route.
  2. From Ampana to Wakai, arrange and confirm your own public boat or Hercules Speedboat in advance. Hercules: WhatsApp +62 813-4372-4441.
  3. From Bunta, our team can arrange a private boat directly to The Angkayo.
  4. Let us know your date and expected arrival so we can coordinate your resort boat transfer.

Can I reach The Angkayo on the same day as my flight?

It may be possible to arrive the same day from Bali with an early flight via Luwuk, a road transfer to Bunta and a pre-arranged private boat to The Angkayo.

Can The Angkayo arrange a boat pickup?

Yes. We can help organise private boat pickups from Wakai, Bunta and other Togean island resorts. Tell us your arrival date and location.

Can I share a transfer with other guests?

Where schedules and destinations match, our reception team can try to combine guest transfers.

Who coordinates excursions during my stay?

Our reception team coordinates excursion boats. Each evening, we gather guests’ interests and organise feasible shared trips for the following day, with a maximum of two excursions per day at present.
